Cortado: The Kick That You Need

We all like coffee that gives us a kick, a jolt of caffeine.  Well most of us do.  Sometimes even avid coffee drinkers, those people who thrive off of their daily expresso need to cut the acidity that comes with it. This is where the cortado comes in.

The cortado is an expresso originating in Spain.  It differs from a typical expresso in that it mixes a roughly equal amount of warm milk to reduce the acidity. 

So how does Brandon Treger, owner of Power Coffeeworks describe the cortado? “All the real coffee bite of an expresso just cut by the sweetness of milk that you don’t even realize is there.”
